10 ~ Sarah's Savvy Savings ~

Does your child squirt out way to much paste when brushing his teeth?

Buy travel size toothpaste tubes or get free samples from your dentist. Let your child use these small tubes of toothpaste. They will feel so independent when they can squeeze their one tube and not make a mess!

(Remember most toothpaste has flouride in it which can cause serious illness if swallowed by children. Always supervise children with toothpaste and stress to them the importance of not swallowing it! Tom's brand has a non-flouride toothpaste and some of the toothpaste made for toddler's and baby's is fouride-free.)

9 ~Sarah's Savvy Savings~

Is your child trying to get away with not washing behind his ears?

Buy some bathtub paint for children. The next time your child takes a bath/shower put the paint on those areas your child is hesitant to wash. My son doesn't like washing his hair so I put it on his head. Make a game of it and tell him/her to be sure to get all of the spots of paint off of him. My son is almost 7 and thought this was a lot of fun and he came out of the shower all clean!
